We grapple with loneliness, so deep in our soul,
We seek respite from its push and its pull.

To find solace in friendship, a dream we all share,
Though often it eludes us, ’tis hard to prepare.

The sense of belonging, so readily found,
In groups of companions, with whom we’re abound.

The sadness of aloneness, it can drive us down,
Yet we can try and build our own community town.

Let us strive to build it and not be astray,
So that we each have a place, where we can stay.

A place we can call home, in time and in space,
Where we can gather, and laugh, and share in God’s grace.

And so let us not be alone, and let us be free,
And seek out those around us and find community.
