Ingredients:
-3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 package active dry yeast
-2 tablespoons white sugar
-2 tablespoons butter
-1 cup of warm milk
-1 egg
-1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
-1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
-½ cup of brown sugar
-1 cup of raisins (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, yeast, and 2 tablespoons of sugar.
- In a small saucepan, heat the butter and milk until just warm (about 110ºF).
- Add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and mix with a mixer on low speed.
- Add the egg and mix until the dough is smooth.
- Grease a separate large bowl with vegetable oil and place the dough into it. Cover with a damp towel and let rise for 1 hour.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll out onto a lightly floured surface.
- Spread the cinnamon and brown sugar over the dough, then sprinkle with the raisins (if using).
- Roll the dough up, cut into 12 even slices, and place onto a greased baking sheet.
- Cover with a damp cloth and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375ºF and bake rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
