-3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 package active dry yeast
-2 tablespoons white sugar
-2 tablespoons butter
-1 cup of warm milk
-1 egg
-1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
-1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
-½ cup of brown sugar
-1 cup of raisins (optional)


  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, yeast, and 2 tablespoons of sugar.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the butter and milk until just warm (about 110ºF).
  3. Add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and mix with a mixer on low speed.
  4. Add the egg and mix until the dough is smooth.
  5. Grease a separate large bowl with vegetable oil and place the dough into it. Cover with a damp towel and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll out onto a lightly floured surface.
  7. Spread the cinnamon and brown sugar over the dough, then sprinkle with the raisins (if using).
  8. Roll the dough up, cut into 12 even slices, and place onto a greased baking sheet.
  9. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 375ºF and bake rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
